Bart Elliott

Bart ElliottBart Elliott has been working as a professional musician for more than 25 years and is known for his versatility, creative energy and extensive collection of drum and percussion instruments. His diverse background as a drummer and percussionist ranges from live performances and pit-work, to studio sessions recording drum & percussion loops, commercial jingles, demos, soundtracks and custom albums - both nationally and internationally.

Besides his Bachelor of Music - Performance degree from West Texas State University and postgraduate work at Southwest Texas State University, where he served as a Teaching Assistant for the percussion department, Bart studied extensively with percussionist John Kasica (St. Louis Symphony Orchestra) from 1982-83 and 1985-86. In addition, Bart also studied with the likes of renowned jazz drummer Alan Dawson, Bob Becker (Nexus) and Africa's master drummer Babatunde Olatunji.

Bart has also served on the adjunct faculties of Southwest Texas State University (1988-89), Amarillo Junior College (1989-1992) and Christ For The Nations Institute (1995-98) in Dallas, Texas. He's also appeared as a guest artist and clinician at the International Drummers For Jesus Celebration, Drum World, CFNI Praise & Worship Conferences, Texas All-Star Jazz Camp, Musico a Musico, Selah Worship Institute and numerous schools, universities, music stores and conferences.

With over 100 albums to his credit, Bart has recorded and/or performed with such artists as Eddie Daniels (at Carnegie Hall), Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), legendary trumpeter Clark Terry, Ernie Watts, Jim Snidero, Warren Sneed, Matthew Ward, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Bill Tillman (Blood, Sweat & Tears), Ana Paula Valadao (Diante do Trono), HARVEST (Benson Records), Kellye Huff (Giant Records), Shannon Wexelberg (Doxology Records), Acoustix, Houston saxophonist Warren Sneed, Dennis Jernigan (Doxology Records), Tom Davis (Amber Rose Music), Deric Ruttan (Lyric Street Records), Tammy Cochran (Sony / Epic Records), Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, Chattanoog Symphony Orchestra, Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra, The Otwell Twins, Jace Everett (Sony Records), Ten Shekel Shirt (Vertical Music), Rose Falcon (Sony / Columbia), Alex Acuna, Sheila E., Vinnie Colaiuta, Paul Leim, Will Kennedy, Luis Conte and many others.

Bart's professional affiliations include the Percussive Arts Society and Pi Kappa Lambda - National Music Honors Society. He endorses Aquarian Drumheads, FIBES drums and exclusively uses Sabian cymbals and Vic Firth drumsticks.

Currently residing in Nashville, TN, Bart stays busy as a studio musician, free-lance drummer / percussionist, music producer, composer, arranger and a drum / percussion instructor. Bart spends a great deal of his time with the Drummer Cafe, which he founded back in 2001.
